Ms. Julie Anne Malkemus, 82, of Northborough MA and formerly of Hopedale MA, died Monday (August 26, 2024) at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in Northborough MA after a period of declining health.

Julie was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Charles V. Malkemus and the late Agnes E. (Sheehan) Malkemus. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1959 and a graduate of Framingham State College, Class of 1963.  She later attained her Master's Degree from the Julliard School of Music in New York City.

Julie was first employed as a young woman as an elementary school teacher at the US Military Academy in West Point NY. Following that she began her successful career in the fashion industry first working for Pauline Trigere, a well known fashion designer. Lastly, she was employed as the main lobby manager of the Henri Vendel Store located in New York City.

While residing in New York City she loved to attend the ballet. She had resided in Wenham MA and Worcester MA before residing in Hopedale MA since 1972.

Julie is survived by her sister: Mary A. Grady of Hopedale MA and her brother: Charles M. Malkemus and his wife Joyce of Aspen CO; she is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY (September 14th) at 12 NOON at Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Uxbridge MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
