Laurie A. (Bisson) Doherty, 55, of Milford MA, died Monday (January 14, 2019) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Westborough MA after an illness. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones.
Laurie was born in Berlin NH, the daughter of Norman and Joan (Gorham) Bisson. She attended public schools in Berlin NH and was a graduate of Berlin High School.
Laurie was first employed as an executive assistant at Lifeline Systems located in Watertown MA, followed by MacroMedia in Cambridge MA. She later worked in the same capacity at Kidde-Fenwal in Ashland MA and finally at IEP Technologies in Marlboro MA.
Laurie was an avid tennis player and loved spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains of New Hampshire and at the beach. She also loved the arts, listening to music, dancing and attending live concerts. She was very proud of her children's academic, theatrical and athletic achievements.
Laurie is survived by her 2 children: Morgan R. Doherty and Cameron C. Doherty, both of Milford MA; her parents: Norman & Joan (Gorham) Bisson of Concord NH; her 3 siblings: Deborah Bisson-Devost, wife of Michael Devost of Hillsborough NH, Frederick Bisson of Berlin NH and Norman Bisson of Freeport ME; several nieces & nephews and her former husband: Christopher Doherty of Shawnee KS.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on FRIDAY (January 25th) at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY (January 24th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family highly encourages memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701.
