Mrs. Margaret G. (Costello) Allen, 97, of Hopedale MA, died Thursday (August 2, 2018) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Alden R. "Bill" Allen, who died in 2012.

Mrs. Allen was born in Wakefield MA, the daughter of the late Francis and the late Marion (Kennedy) Costello. She was a graduate of Salem State College and attained her master's degree from Boston University.

Mrs. Allen had been employed as a high school business teacher for forty years, first employed in Newburyport MA and then later at Hopedale High School for over twenty-five years.

Mrs. Allen had been a longtime active member of Hopedale Country Club with her late husband and was also an active square-dancer.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her 2 Sons: Robert C. Allen and his wife Karen of Hopedale MA and Stephen P. Allen and his wife Dawn of The Villages FL; 6 Grandchildren:  Michael Allen and his wife Faith of Milford MA, Kevin Allen of Chicago IL, Craig Allen of Hopedale MA, Brittany Allen of Hopedale MA, Nicole Spencer and her husband Tom of Berthoud CO and Christina Norman and her husband Adam of Fort Collins CO; 8 Great Grandchildren: Ainsley Allen, Madison Spencer and her husband Casey Clifford, Tyler Adler, Courtney Guarnieri, wife of Mikey Guarnieri, Thomas Spencer, Cody Spencer, Jamal Norman and Kyle Norman; 4 Great Great Grandchildren: Brooklyn Clifford, Grayson Clifford, Harper Kopcik, Charleigh Guarnieri; and several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Allen was the grandmother of the late Daniel J. Allen, who died in 2011 and the sister of the late John Costello; the late Elizabeth "Betty" Rock and the late Marion Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (August 8th) at  12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday morning (August 8th) from 11am to 12 NOON, prior to her Funeral Service.
