Mrs. Maria V. (Scirocco) Ozella, 59, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Saturday (October 3, 2026) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after being stricken. She was the beloved wife of Michael J. Ozella.


Maria was born in Framingham MA, the daughter of the late Edward M. Scirocco and the late Veronica G. (Jakubauskas) Scirocco. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1985. She then attended Quinsigamond Community College and attained her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.


Maria was first employed as an educator at Tracy & Becky Day Care & Pre-School located in Milford MA. She then was employed as a program supervisor for the SMOC Head Start Program and then lastly as the Director of early childhood education at the Dimock Center located in Roxbury MA.


Maria was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and had served as a town meeting member.


Maria loved taking trips to the casino; loved going to the beach and attending various polka festivals. She was also an avid Boston Bruins fan. But her favorite past time was spending time with her beloved family members and her dear friends.


Along with her beloved husband of 33 years, she is survived by her 2 sons: Michael J. Ozella II of Milford MA and Jeremy Bottoms and his wife Vanessa of Blackstone MA; her granddaughter: Aryanna Bottoms of Blackstone MA; her 5 siblings: Edward Scirocco and his wife Tammy of Milford MA, Donna Lucier and her husband Edward Lucier of Milford MA, Steven Scirocco of Milford MA, Laura Scirocco of Wareham MA and Debora Parry and her husband George Parry of Milford MA; also many nieces & nephews.


In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of her Life will be held on SATURDAY (April 17, 2027) at the Nipmuc Rod & Gun Club, 88 Fiske Mill Road, Upton MA 01568, starting at 12 NOON. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Nipmuc Rod & Gun Club Kids Fishing Derby, c/o The Nipmuc Rod & Gun Club, P O Box #171, Hopedale MA 01747.
