Michael Steven Meade

Mr. Michael S. Meade, 54, of Hopedale MA died Monday (September 28, 2026) at his residence in Hopedale MA after an illness.

Michael was born in Oceanside NY, the son of Peter Meade and Anna (Fico) Meade. He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in 1993, where he attained his bachelor’s degree.

Michael was employed by the Department of the US Navy, first working at the Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPNWAR) from 1993 to 1998. He later became employed as a technical specialist working at MIDS, the Multifunctional Information Distribution System Program Office from 1998 to 2025.

Michael had resided in La Jolla California from 1997 to 20205. He had been a resident of Hopedale MA since 2025.

Michael liked puzzles of all kinds, including crossword puzzles, Sudoku puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. He was also an avid golfer. He also loved rooting for & supporting his favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees, the New York Football Giants, the Pittsburgh Penguins and all of college football.

Michael is survived by his parents: Michael & Anna Meade of Williamsburg VA; his sister: Lisa (Meade) Maloney and her husband Patrick of Hopedale MA; and his 2 nephews: Ryan Maloney of Boston MA & Kyle Maloney of Hopedale MA.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. His funeral services will be held SATURDAY (October 10th) at 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held SATURDAY (October 10th) from 11:00am to 12 NOON, prior to his funeral services.
