Mrs. Philomena L. "Phyllis" (DeLuca) Ablondi, 90, of Milford MA died Thursday (May 6, 2021) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late David A. Ablondi, who died in 1998.

Phyllis was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Annie (Salvia) DeLuca. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School. She was also a graduate of the former St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing.

Phyllis had been employed as a registered nurse for over thirty years, working at the former Milford Hospital and the former Framingham Union Hospital. She also worked as a secretary, assisting her late husband in the operations of the Highland Construction Company.

Phyllis was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and had been a member of the St. Vincent's School of Nursing Alumnae Association. She also was a longtime member & past-president of the Milford Rotary-Anns.

Phyllis is survived by her son: John P. Ablondi of Milford MA; her daughter: Christine, wife of Jude Maddem of Waltham MA; her granddaughter: Elizabeth Madden of Waltham MA; her sister: Mrs. Carol Pateteof Franklin MA; and several nieces & nephews.

Phyllis was the sister of the late Michael DeLuca and the late Gioachino "Jack" Deluca.

In accordance with her wishes a Private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation will follow and a Private Committal Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA. There are no visiting hours.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
