Robert H. Brown, 87, of Hopedale, MA. and formerly of Milford, MA. died Friday morning (May 4, 2012) at his residence after a short illness surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the husband of the late Arlene A. (Bachand) Brown who died in 2001. Mr. Brown was born in Milford, MA. , the son of the late William P. and the late Mae Grace (Bethel) Brown and resided in Milford before moving to Hopedale in 1956. He attended the Milford public schools and graduated from Milford High School in 1942. He was a WWII US Army veteran having served in the Philippines and in New Guinea. Mr. Brown was employed as a pattern maker at the Morgan Construction Company in Worcester, MA. and at Wyman-Gordon Company in North Grafton, MA. for over (40) years. He was a communicant of the former Holy Angels Church in Upton, MA. and belonged to the Antique Automobile Club of America. Mr. Brown loved antiquing and wood working. He leaves (3) sons, James H. Brown and his wife, Norma Davis of Plymouth, MA., Michael A. Brown of Center Tuftonboro, NH, and Robert E. Brown and his wife, Cecelia, of Springfield, VT; (2) daughters, Elaine M. Strand of Uxbridge, MA. and Joan T., wife of Richard K. Tosti of Douglas, MA.; (13) grandchildren; (1) great granddaughter; nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late "Bucky" and Fred Brown and Louisa Fay. His funeral will be held on Tuesday morning (May 8) at 9AM from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home  44 Congress Street Street Milford, MA. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church 151 Mendon Street Upton, MA. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow and burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Monday (May 7) from 5:00PM-8:00PM.
