In Loving Memory of Roger Delaware October 9, 1933 -August 2, 2026

Roger Delaware was born on October 9,1933. From the very beginning ,Roger was known for his joyful

spirit, boundless energy, and ability to bring happiness to the people around him. Throughout his life,he created countless memories and formed friendships and bonds that touched the hearts of many.

In his younger years, Roger had a"clear vision of what he wanted from life. With his determined and tenacious spirit, he advocated for himself and eventually moved into his own apartment, where he flourished as an important and beloved member of the Uxbridge community. Roger treasured his independence and the life he built for himself. He especially enjoyed visiting family in Florida and spending time with his dear friend, Deb.

After living independently, Roger met Walter and Dick and moved in to a farmhouse in Upton. There, he became part of a wonderful circle of friends who genuinely welcomed him and incorporated him into their lives. Roger embraced the everyday experiences that made this chapter so special-from looking after the chickens and helping plan the annual pig roast to participating in Open Mic nights at the local Rose Garden Bar. These were more than activities; they were moments of friendship, belonging, laughter ,and community that Roger cherished.

When Roger needed additional support, he moved into a home in Douglas, where he was welcomed and supported by Michelle Mauch and her amazing family. For many years, Roger thrived as a member of his Shared Living family. He cherished the relationships, experiences, and opportunities that became such an important part of his life. Among those relationships was his genuine and special bond with Larry.

Roger's determined and resilient spirit carried him through many challenges. As his health began to decline, he moved into a home in Grafton, where he was fortunate to be reunited with Deb. Their heartfelt partnership was a beautiful example of a true lifelong connection.

During his time in Grafton, Roger created meaningful bonds not only with his roommates but also with the staff who cared for him each day. He became a beloved part of the home and left his mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. People often joked that Roger was going to live to be 200 years old –a testament to his incredible energy, strength, and determination.

At home, Roger was affectionately known by many names, including Grampa, Rocky, and Mr. Rog. Each name carried its own memories and reflected the special place he held in the hearts of those around him.

Roger will be remembered for his joyful personality, his strong spirit, his independence,his friendships, and the countless memories he created throughout this life. He taught those around him about resilience, connection, and the importance of living life with heart.

Though he is deeply missed, Roger's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, roommates, caregivers, and everyone who had the privilege of sharing part of his journey.

Roger may no longer be with us, but the love, laughter, friendships, and memories he gave us will remain forever.

Rest peacefully, Roger .You will always be remembered ,always be loved ,and always be missed.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Private Celebration of Life Service was held at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
