Shirley A. (Goneau) Lavigne

Shirley A. (Goneau) Lavigne, 73, of Dorchester MA and formerly of Milford MA died Friday (September 18, 2026) at the Boston Medical Center in Boston MA after an illness.

Shirley was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Harry Goneau and the daughter of Ella (Lerck) Goneau. She attended the former St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1970. She also attended Bristol Community College & Southeastern Massachusetts University.

Shirley had been employed as a young woman working as a social worker at Coastline Elderly Services located in New Bedford MA. She later was employed at Poland Spring located in Norton MA and then lastly as a clerk at Robert’s Collection Agency located in Milford MA.

Along with her mother, she is survived by her daughter: Melissa Marie Lavigne; her son: Jerrold Lavigne; and her brother: Steven Goneau and his wife Kathleen.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of her cremains has taken place in North Purchase Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no formal funeral services.
