Susan G. Fitzpatrick (nee Leoncini), 72, passed away on December 24th at her home in Albuquerque, NM.

Susan was born in 1950 to Joseph and Anita (Harback) Leoncini of Hopedale, MA. After graduating from Hopedale High School in 1968, she went on to graduate from Regis College.

Susan's career journey was a varied one; she taught French and English at several area high schools before transitioning to the business world for many years.  In 1999, she moved to the Southwest, a landscape she always loved, where she sought to take on new adventures.  There, she worked in tourism and hospitality until her retirement.

While living in Hopedale, Susan and Mark Fitzpatrick (her former husband) raised their son, Joel; she was a hard-working and loving mother who dedicated much of her life to raising him. When her son grew up and moved to New Hampshire to raise his family, Susan moved to New Mexico. There she had the good fortune to find her kind, gentle, and loving partner, Larry Roybal.  Susan enjoyed cooking, reading, the arts and traveling and was always happy to talk at length about any of them.

Susan was predeceased by her parents and her partner Larry.  She is survived by her son: Joel D. Fitzpatrick and his wife Danielle of Keene NH; her granddaughters: Fiona G. Fitzpatrick and Lily R. Fitzpatrick of Keene NH; also her brother: Steven S. Leoncini and his wife Renee of Grafton MA; and her former husband, Mark Fitzpatrick of Whitinsville MA.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Monday (January 23rd)  at 10am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Monday morning (January 23rd) from 9am to 10am, prior to her Funeral Service.
