Mr. Wayne A. Small, 85, of Mendon MA died Friday (July 31, 2026) at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham MA after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Helen "Bonnie' (Beyer) Small.

Wayne was born in Lynn MA, the son of the late Herbert Small and the late Helen (Collins) Small.

Following graduation from high school he began his long career working in the construction industry. He was employed for many years as a union carpenter working out of the Framingham MA & Boston MA carpenter's  union.  He also had personally built his various residences over the years.

Wayne had grown up in Swampscott MA and then resided in Danvers MA & Framingham MA. He resided in Holliston MA from 1980 to 2001 and had been a resident of Mendon MA since 2001. He had been an active member of the Boston Ski & Sports Club as a younger man.

Along with his beloved wife Bonnie, he is survived by his daughter: Cheryl Lord and her husband Jeff Lord of Newton NH; his granddaughter: Kelsey Lord of Florida; his grandson: Kyle Lord of Michigan; his sister: Jean Ryan of Gloucester MA; his 6 nephews: Rick Ryan of Washington State, Jeff Ryan of Massachusetts, Todd Ryan of Massachusetts, Dan Ryan of Washington State, Colin Ryan of Washington State and David Ryan of Florida; his 2 nieces: Katie Ryan of Massachusetts and Jillie Ryan of Massachusetts.

Wayne was the step-father of the late Ricky Dotolo and the late Debbie Dotolo.

A Celebration of his Life will be held Thursday (August 6th) at 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Thursday morning from 11:00am to 12 Noon, prior to his Celebration of Life. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA.
