Mr. Albert M. Recchia, 85, of Milford MA died Sunday (December 14, 2025) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Albert was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Antonio Recchia and the late Rose (Mazzone) Recchia. He attended the former Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958.
Albert was a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served from 1958 to 1960, serving as a machinist mate.
Albert was first employed as a young man as a tool maker at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale MA. He then was employed as a tool maker at the former General Motors Assembly Plant located in Framingham MA. He continued his occupation as a tool maker while working at the former Volpe Tool & Die Company and then at Normac Corporation. After retiring from the manufacturing industry he was employed for several years for the Town of Milford working at the Milford Transfer Station.
Albert also served his Milford community working as a Worcester County Sherriff for many years and also serving as a member of the Milford Citizens Police Patrol.
Albert was a longtime member of the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club. He loved going dancing with his longtime companion and their group of friends who shared the love of dancing. He also loved going to the movies and attending all kinds of flea markets & car shows. He also loved his morning coffee meetings with the gang at the Honey Dew Coffee Shop. But his favorite past time was attending the various sporting events of his grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his 3 children: Anthony A. Recchia and his wife Lisa of Milford MA, Michelle E. Totilo and her husband Peter Totilo of Sterling MA and David P. Recchia of Whitinsville MA; 3 grandchildren: Derryk Recchia of Northbridge MA, Olivia Recchia of Framingham MA and Justin Recchia of Milford MA; 1 sister: Joanne Tessier of Grafton MA; several nieces & nephews; and his longtime companion: Marilyn DeLuca of Milford MA.
His funeral will be held Friday (December 19th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Friday (December 19th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to his Funeral Mass.
