Obituary

Mrs. Alice T. (Luby) DePalma, 90, of Milford MA, died Friday (October 9, 2020) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. DePalma, who died in 2009.

 

Alice was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Frederick J. and the late Lillian M. (Battles) Luby. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1947 and also a graduate of the former St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951.

 

Alice began her career as a registered nurse at the former Milford Hospital and later worked as a nurse at the offices of Dr. Ronald Lukert in Milford MA. She finished her nursing career as a registered nurse at the Milford Regional Medical Center.

 

Alice was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a longtime member of the Luby Association. She was also a member of the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association.

 

Alice is survived by her daughter: Maureen, wife of Joseph Connole of Whitinsville MA; her grandson: Michael Connole of Whitinsville MA and many nieces & nephews.

 

Alice was the sister of the late Frederick Luby Jr; the late John Luby; the late Gerard Luby; the late Albert Luby; the late William Luby; the late Helen Daly; the late Lillian Morris and the late Joan Fales.

 

Her funeral will be held  Wednesday (October 14th) at  9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a  Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA due to the ongoing renovations at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday (October 13th) from 5pm to 8pm. Social distancing protocols & use of face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services. 

 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The St. Mary of the Assumption Church Renovation Fund, c/o St. Mary’s Church Offices, 17 Winter Street, Milford MA 01757.
