Andrew Belmonte Obituary

Mr. Andrew J. Belmonte, 85, of Milford MA passed away peacefully Saturday (October 2, 2021) at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Guido) Belmonte for 63 years.

Andrew was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Frank and the late Fina ((D’Alessandro) Martello Belmonte. He attended Milford public schools and was a lifelong resident of Milford MA

In addition to his beloved wife, Andy is survived by his four children: Lisa Foster of Milford MA, Debbie Brunson and her husband Tommie of Hopedale MA, Brian Belmonte of San Francisco CA and Donna Agnew and her companion Rene Navarro of Milford MA. His grandchildren: Brett Foster, Kayla Brunson, Tristan Brunson, Ciara Agnew, Alexa Agnew and Jaden Agnew.

Andy was pre-deceased by his brothers, John Martello, Angelo Martello, Phillip Martello, Mario Martello, Jack Martello, Sam Martello and his sister, Josephine Mignone.

Andy was a self-taught upholsterer and created custom pieces for Katherine Hepburn and Meatloaf. He owned & operated his own upholstery business, “Sit In Comfort”.

Andy was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the former Milford Elks Lodge.

Andy was a huge sports fan and loved gathering with the family to cheer on the Patriots. He was so proud of his granddaughter, Kayla, when she cheered for the New England Patriots for 4 years and they won two superbowls.

He loved to go to the casinos and with his wife they would go gamble and meet friends they made there.

Andy also loved his Carlo Rossi wine and for years made us white wine spritzers. Dad loved to cook and was very good at it. Every Saturday he would cook a huge meal for family Sunday dinners. Bouillabaisse pasta with clams he picked was the best ! And nobody made a salad like him. Extended family could not wait to eat his salad at our family parties ! We had huge Christmas Eve parties and he was the best host ever !

Andy loved the sea and started out taking his family camping in Brewster and Dennis before he bought a house in Falmouth MA. For 35 years he spent summers and weekends teaching his kids and grandkids, how to fish, crab, clam and quahog. The best memories were made with his family at the Cape and we will keep his memory alive as we continue to do all the things he loved.

His funeral will be held Wednesday (October 6th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA.
