Mr. Anthony J. “Tony” Lombardi, 71, of Milford MA died Tuesday (March 1, 2022) at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester MA after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the beloved husband of Linda J. (Eknaian) Lombardi.
Tony was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Luigi “Lou” Lombardi and the son of Sylvia M. “Sis” (Bousquet) Lombardi of Milford MA.
He attended the former St. Mary’s parochial schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1969. Following high school, Tony attended Indian River Jr. College in Florida and Wichita State College in Kansas. After spending time backpacking across the country, he settled in Milford.
Tony was first employed as a union laborer, working in the construction industry. He later became a devoted “stay at home Dad”, a job that he cherished until his daughters got older and he became a loan officer at the former Statewide Mortgage Company.
Along with his beloved wife of thirty-six years and his devoted mother; he is survived by his three daughters, Nicole L. Lombardi of Milford, MA, Lauren J. Marcov and her husband Paul of Mendon, MA and Alyssa M. Pettepit and her husband Tim of Hopedale, MA; his five grandchildren, Lia, Lucas and Jak Marcov, and Lou and Anthony Pettepit; his brother, Bunny Lombardi and his wife Sandy of Hopedale, MA; his sister, Linda Kennedy and her husband Bill of Milford, MA; his in-laws Hagop (Jack) and Eleanor (Ellie) Eknaian, brothers-in-law Eddie Eknaian and his wife Gina, and Michael Eknaian; sister-in-law Joanie Giuliani and her husband Paul; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, his funeral will be held SATURDAY (March 12th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford, MA at 2:00PM.Visiting hours will take place SATURDAY (March 12th) from 12:30PM to 1:30PM, prior to his Funeral Mass. Burial of his cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA.
Due to COVID-19 and the family’s concerns for the wellbeing of everyone, the use face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services and a gathering will not be held following the burial.
