Anthony R. Mercer

Mr. Anthony R. Mercer, 53, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Tuesday (December 19, 2023) He was the beloved husband of Aimee M. (Merritt) Mercer.

Anthony was born in Boston MA, the son of the late John K. Mercer and the son of Laura H. (Cox) Santiago. He attended public schools in Brighton MA. He grew up in Brighton MA and moved to Milford MA in 1999, where he raised his children.

Anthony had been employed for many years as a self-employed landscaper.

Anthony loved music, watching movies, especially those starring older Italian actors, like The Godfather. He also liked to “break dance” as a younger man. But his favorite past time was spending time with his beloved family members, cooking pasta dinners for his family, visiting thrift stores & camping in New Hampshire. His grandchildren called him “Bupa”.

Along with his beloved wife Aimee, he is survived by his daughters Kelsi Mercer & Nicole Mercer; his sons Bryan Mercer & Justin Mercer; his grandchildren: Myah Rae, Niko Anthony, Joshua, Destiny & Jaxen Smith; also his mother Laura Santiago; and many aunts, uncles & cousins.

Anthony was pre-deceased by his daughter Dina Smith; his father John Mercer; his paternal grandparents: Ray & Maureen Mercer; his maternal grandparents: John & Donna Cox.

His funeral will be held on Friday (December 29th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Cremation will follow his Funeral Mass. Visiting hours will be held Friday morning (December 29th) from 10am to 11:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to his Funeral Mass.
