Arthur Walker Obituary

Mr. Arthur J. Walker, 90, of Hopedale MA and formerly of Ashland MA and Dennis MA died Sunday evening (June 3, 2018) at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor E. (Mespelli) Walker, who died in 2014.

 

Mr. Walker was born in Natick MA, the son of the late Arthur J. Walker Sr. and the late Edith (Sargent) Walker Sarno. He was a graduate of Framingham High School and had attended Wentworth Institute and Northeastern University.

 

Mr. Walker was first employed for 22 years at Duplicon Company, Inc. in Westborough MA. He later was employed at the Thomas Smith Company located in Worcester MA and the Koehler Manufacturing Company located in Marlborough MA. Lastly, he was employed at and served as part owner at Virgo Metal Stamping Company located in Worcester MA.

 

Mr. Walker was a WW II US Coast Guard veteran. He was a longtime member of the Ashland MA Knights of Columbus and was a member of the church choir for over 20 years at Lady of the Cape Parish in Brewster MA. He was also an avid golfer and loved to make his own golf clubs.

 

Mr. Walker is survived by his 5 Children: Shelley A. Flanagan and her companion Peter Crilley of Milford MA, Susan J., wife of Robert Bradley of Holliston MA, Paul Walker of Vancouver CA, Laurie Holzworth of Plymouth MA and Lynn Walker of Hopkinton MA; 1 Brother: Joseph Sarno and his wife Bonnie of Northborough MA;       9 Grandchildren;  8 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

 

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A Private Graveside Committal Service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
