B. Eileen (Coleman) Keegan

Mrs. Beatrice Eileen (Coleman) Keegan, 84, of Milford MA died Friday (May 30, 2025) at Cornerstone of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas C. Keegan who died in 2020.

Eileen was born in Fall River MA, the daughter of the late George W. Coleman and the late Beatrice K. (Shea) Coleman. She was a graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1958. She then received her bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College in 1962, and later her master’s degree from Bridgewater State College as well.

Eileen then started her successful career as a teacher working for the Dighton public school system. In the early 1970’s she began working for the Milford public schools, working at the Plains Elementary School. She then was employed at the former Milford Catholic Elementary School in the 1980’s and finished her teaching career at Milford’s Memorial Elementary School.

Eileen had been a resident of Milford MA since 1970 and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

Eileen is survived by her son: Christopher Keegan and his wife Diana of Milford MA; her 2 grandsons: Patrick Keegan and Matthew Keegan of Milford MA; her cousin: Cindy Day of Falmouth MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Eileen was the sister of the late Most Rev. George W. Coleman Jr., Bishop of the Fall River MA Diocese who died in 2024

Her funeral will be held Thursday (June 5th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church (LOWER CHURCH), 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. A Private Committal Service at St Ann Cemetery in Cranston RI will be held on another day. A visiting hour will be held Thursday (June 5th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
