Barbara E. Brashier, 85, of Milford MA died Thursday evening (November 11, 2021) at her residence after a courageous ten year battle with cancer.
Barbara was born in Carmi IL, the daughter of the late Kenneth and the late Madge L. (Lasater) Brashier. She attended grammar school in Evansville IN as a young girl and was a graduate of Carmi IL High School. She was also a graduate of the University of Evansville, where she received her bachelor’s degree.
Barbara was first employed as a young woman at Meade Johnson Corporation located in Evansville IN. She then worked at Dow-Corning in offices in Michigan and later in Boston MA. Following that she had been employed at the Metro-West Medical Center as a patient service representative at the Metro-West Wellness Center. After retirement, she became a volunteer at the Milford Youth Center and at the Milford Senior Center.
Barbara was an avid supporter of the arts and had been an active member of & also member of the board of directors of the Millis Theatre Group. She had also been a member of the Milford Choral Group & the Milford Senior Center Singers. She was also a member of the Milford Horticultural Society and an active member of the Metro-West Writers Group. Barbara had also appeared on the local Milford Cable TV channel as host of the “Life Stories” Program.
Barbara is survived by her 2 siblings: Kenneth Ray Brashier and his significant other, Joanne Pollard of Evansville IN and Diana, wife of Randy Powell of Collinsville IL; her nieces & nephews: Darin Lee and his wife Gina, Kendra Altobelli and her husband Michael, Denise Dismukes and her husband Mark and Kacie Brashier Williams; also her grandnieces & grandnephews whom she treated like her very own grandchildren: Luke & Eliza Altobelli, Kyle & Kelsey Dismukes, Jackson & Danielle Lee and Ella MacPherson.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Committal Service will be held in Indiana at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on a DAY & TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED.
