Mrs. Barbara A. ( Niederberger) Delphos, 87, of Hopedale MA died unexpectedly on Friday (January 17, 2025) at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Phillip R. Delphos.
Barbara was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Arthur Niederberger and the late Rose (Madden) Niederberger. She attended public schools in Dedham MA and went on to attain her degree in nursing from Boston University.
Barbara was first employed as a young woman working as a registered nurse at various hospitals in Boston. She later began her successful career working as a registered nurse working for the Greater Milford Area Visiting Nurses Association, where she covered the Franklin MA & Mendon MA area.
Barbara had grown up in Dedham MA, but had raised her family residing in Franklin MA. She has been a resident of Hopedale MA in her retirement years.
Barbara was an avid quilter and a longtime member of The Thimble Pleasures Quilt Guild. She loved to travel to many countries and in her retirement she loved going to Florida in the winter. She also loved gardening. She was also an avid fan of all the local sports teams.
Along with her beloved husband of over 50 years, she is survived by her 2 sons: Scott Delphos and his wife Mary of Douglas MA & Paul Delphos of Virginia Beach VA; her grandchildren: Emily Delphos of Douglas MA, Julie Delphos of Biddeford ME & Amelia Delphos of Arlington VA.
In accordance with her wishes a Private Graveside Committal Service will be held at Hopedale Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
