Barbara Berry Obituary

             Mrs. Barbara Mary Ann (Markt) Berry, 81, of Newton MA and Falmouth MA died Thursday (July 5, 2018). She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest R. Berry Jr., “her funny Valentine”, who died in 2006.

 

Barbara was born in Canton MA, the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Alice (Flood) Markt. She was a graduate of Canton High School and also attained her associates degree from Chandler School for Women.

 

Barbara was first employed as a young woman as a medical secretary for Dr. Robert Brown in Brookline MA. Following her marriage she became a devoted wife & mother.

 

Barbara had been a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley MA where she proudly served as a Eucharistic minister and was involved with many fundraising activities. She loved spending time with her many friends from New Silver Beach in North Falmouth MA. Later in life she loved spending time with her friends from Southport in Mashpee MA.

 

Barbara is survived by her loving children: Melinda Berry of Malden MA; Ernest “Chuck” Berry of Hyde Park MA; Mary Alison and Brian Cottman of Franklin MA; Marcia Berry of Chicago IL; John Berry and Sarah Larner of Dedham MA; her greatest loves were her 3 grandsons: Jack Cottman, Mac Cottman and Jacob Berry. She also leaves countless cousins and several nieces & nephews.

 

Her funeral will be held Thursday (July 12th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Jude Catholic Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk MA. A Private Committal Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA at a later date. A visiting hour will be held Thursday (July 12th) from 10am to 11am, prior to her Funeral Mass. k.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham MA 02452.
