Betty Castiglioni Obituary

Mrs. Betty T. (Turner) Castiglioni, 72, of Milford MA, died Tuesday (June 29, 2021) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Gary E. Castiglioni.

 

Betty was born in Paterson NJ, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Mary (Radvansky) Turner. She was a graduate of Paterson NJ High School. She then received her bachelor’s degree from University of Colorado-Denver and her master’s degree from Assumption College.

 

Betty had been employed fort the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Department of Mental Health from 1986 to 2006 primarily working as a rehabilitation counselor for child adolescent services. Prior to that she had worked as a counselor in Colorado.

 

Betty loved spending time at the Cape Cod National Seashore, at Martha’s Vineyard, at Vermont and back in Colorado. She also loved spending time at New Jersey diners & bakeries. She loved going out to dinner & shopping, making people laugh, being a NE Patriots fan, especially of Tom Brady & “Gronk”.

 

Betty also loved going for rides with her husband Gary or her son Gerry. She also loved sleep-overs with her granddaughter Tori. Betty also loved her pet dogs and spending time with her extended family members.

 

Betty was proud of overcoming her dyslexia problems & very proud of attaining her master’s degree and working as a counselor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Department of Mental Health.

 

Along with her beloved husband of 32 years, she is survived by her son: Gerald Turner and his wife Sue of Grafton MA; her granddaughter: Victoria Turner of Grafton MA; her sister: Dottie Nashagh of Tampa FL; also her many nieces & nephews: Nicholas Wright and his wife Udi of Georgetown TX, Jason Wright and his wife Vanessa of Houston TX, Lt Col. Sam Nashagh (USMC) and his wife Jennifer of Tampa FL, Muhammad Nashagh and his wife Tracy of Tampa FL, Maj. Dee Nashagh (USMC) of Tampa FL, Michela Castiglioni of Milford MA, Michael Castiglioni and his wife Heather of North Attleboro MA, Brian Castiglioni and his wife Tarah of Jaffrey NH, Peter Cameron and his wife Nicole of Cumberland RI, Matthew Cameron and his wife Rachael of Hopedale MA, Gina Castiglioni, Jackson Castiglioni and Kevin Castiglioni of Milford MA, Sandora Turner of Tampa FL, Jennifer Hamilton and her husband Gregory of Lincoln NE and Lorraine Ryder of Lincoln NE; also her special grandnieces & grandnephews whom she treated like her own grandchildren: Scarlet Castiglioni, Dax Castiglioni, Evelyn O’Clair, Beckett Cameron, Samuel Cameron, Julia Cameron, Ally Wright, Chelsea Wright, Nikki Wright, Sophia Wright, Reagan Nashagh, Carter Nashagh and Justin Barr.

 

Betty is also survived by her brothers & sisters-in-law: Steven Castiglioni and his wife Gloria of Bellingham MA, Linda & Glenn Cameron of Milford MA, Alfred Castiglioni & Maria Castiglioni of Milford MA, Lynne Castiglioni of Bellingham MA and a special family friend: Conrad Fortin of North Smithfield RI.

 

Betty was the sister of the late Maryann Ryder & her late identical twin, Louise Turner, who died this past February.

 

 

 

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday (July 6th) at 11am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Tuesday morning (July 6th) from 10am to 11am, prior to her Funeral Service.
