Carl Bresciani Obituary

Mr. Carl R. Bresciani,   90, of Franklin MA and formerly of Hopedale MA died Wednesday (March 11, 2020) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (McGrath) A. Bresciani.

 

Mr. Bresciani was born in Hopedale MA, the son of the late Paul and the late Louisa (Vannoni) Bresciani. He attended Hopedale public schools and was a graduate of Hopedale High School, Class of 1948, having served as class President.

 

Mr. Bresciani was first employed as a young man as an electrician at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale MA. He later was employed as an electrician at GTE in Westborough MA, from which he retired. He was a longtime member of I.B.E.W.

 

Mr. Bresciani was a Korean Conflict veteran having served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He was a two term member of the Board of Selectmen in the Town of Hopedale. He was also a former President of the Hopedale High School Alumni Association and former President of the Hopedale Youth Baseball Program.

 

Mr. Bresciani loved gardening and playing cards at Eaton Place in Franklin MA. But his favorite past-time was accompanying his grandchildren to all of their various sporting events & other activities.

 

Along with his beloved wife of sixty-four years, he is survived by his children: Michael J. Bresciani and his wife Maureen of Hopedale MA, Paul R. Bresciani and his wife Jean of Chatham MA, Jane L. Gallagher of Milford MA and Carla A. Jones and her husband Michael of Uxbridge MA; 9 grandchildren: Kristen Bresciani, Katie Bresciani, Kelley Gallagher, Kerri Jones, Kevin Bresciani, Cam Gallagher, Meghan Jones, Erin Jones, Luca Bresciani; 1 great granddaughter: Kendall Bresciani; his sister-in-law: Mrs. Mary Bresciani of Franklin MA and several nieces & nephews.

 

Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday (March 14th) at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow. A private committal service, with Military Honors, will be held in Hopedale Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
