Carmella Mildred (Manzo) Cedrone

Mrs. Carmella M. (Manzo) Cedrone, 104, of Milford MA and formerly of Hopedale MA and Brighton MA died  peacefully Wednesday (June 14, 2023) at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Cedrone, who died in 1996 & the beloved mother of the late Gerard A. Cedrone, who died in 2009.

Carmella was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Alfonso Manzo and the late Giovanna (Tannaco) Manzo. She attended Boston public schools, graduating from East Boston High School, Class of 1936.

Carmella was first employed as a young woman at a silk mill in Brighton MA. She then was employed as an aide at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton MA. Following that she was employed for 30 years as a salesperson at the Ralph Jordan Fabrics Store located in Brighton MA.

Carmella had been a resident of Brighton MA for most of her life and had resided in Hopedale MA from 2016 to 2021. She has resided in Milford MA for the past two years.  She was an active member of the Brightoon MA Senior Center and also at the Hopedale MA Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, bowling and doing word puzzles, but her favorite past time was spending time with her beloved family members.

Carmella is survived by her 2 daughters: Joanne Rosen and her husband Gerard Rosen of Milford MA & Carol Hogan and her husband Edward Hogan of Hudson MA; also her grandchildren: Christine Rosen and her husband Anthony Iams, John Rosen, Patricia Rosen and her husband Joshua Wood, Amanda Hogan & Shannon Hogan; also many nieces & nephews.

Carmella was the sister of the late Elizabeth Cella, the late Salvatore Manzo, the late Marie Labella, the late Jean Adamo, the late Theresa Scarpa, the late Peter Manzo and the late Rose Manzo.

Carmella’s family would like to thank all of her caregivers, especially Angie, for their kindness and compassion.

Her funeral will be held TUESDAY (June 20th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford Ma followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waltham MA. A visiting hour will be held TUESDAY (June 20th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
