Carol Amato Obituary

Mrs. Carol (Pierzchalski) Amato, 76, of Milford MA and formerly of Lyndhurst NJ, died Saturday (February 15, 20025) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Joseph N. Amato.

 

Carol was born in Passaic NJ, the daughter of the late Fred Pierzchalski and the late Mary (Kwatkowski) Pierzchalski. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi NJ, Class of 1966. She was also a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Passaic NJ in 1971 and a graduate of William Patterson College in Wayne NJ in 1974.

 

Carol began her long and successful career in nursing by working as a staff nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic NJ. She then worked as a clinical instructor at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia PA and a clinical instructor at St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing in Albany NY. Following that she had worked as a 2nd Shift Supervisor at Manor Care Health Service located in Dunedin FL. Upon moving to Massachusetts she finished her nursing career working at various nursing positions throughout Massachusetts, she finished her career as a Patient Advocate at A.I.M. Mutual Insurance in Burlington MA.

 

Carol had been a resident of Milford since 1987 and prior to that had resided in Clearwater FL, Clifton Park NY, Sycamore IL, Aldan PA and Lyndhurst NJ.

 

Carol enjoyed shopping & going to the beach in the summertime, especially in Wareham MA. She also enjoyed cruises to Bermuda  and the Caribbean; visiting family in New Jersey and traveling up & down the East coast. But her favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren.

 

Carol is survived by her beloved husband of fifty years; her 2 sons: Jeffrey Amato of New York City NY and Christopher Amato and his wife Sarah of Holliston MA; her 3 grandchildren: Teddy Amato of Holliston MA, Lowell Amato of Holliston MA and Emilia Amato of Holliston MA; also several cousins.

 

Carol was the sister of the late Mary Pierzchalski.

 

Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to Carol’s family on Wednesday (February 19th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. 

 

Her Mass of Christain Burial will be held Monday (February 24th) at 10:00am at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 624 Page Avenue, Lyndhurst NJ. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi NJ. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (February 23rd) from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst NJ.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute @ Milford Regional Medical Center, c/o the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757.
