Celie Dolores (MacDonald) Grove

Mrs. Celie D. (MacDonald) Grove, 86, of Peabody MA and formerly of Milford MA died Sunday (October 19, 2025) at Seasons of Danvers Assisted Living in Danvers MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Burnell Grove Jr. who died in 2022.

Celie was born in St Charles IL, the daughter of the late John MacDonald and the late Mary (Coryn) MacDonald. She grew up in St Charles IL and had resided in Peabody MA for the past three years. Prior to that she had resided in Milford MA for fifty-six years.

Celie’s life reflected her passions, which was service to others; her deep religious faith & her devotion to her family. She was an accomplished artist who painted in oil, water color & charcoal mediums. She loved gardening , cooking & traveling. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA.

Celie is survived by her 2 children: Ann M. Ambeliotis and her husband Loukas Ambeliotis of Peabody MA & John B. Grove and his wife Rachel Grove of Mountville PA; her 5 grandchildren: Alexis M. Ambeliotis of Chelmsford MA, Joanna M. Ambeliotis and her husband Ben of Lakewood CO, Margaret G. “Maggie” Ambeliotis of Denver CO, Max B. Grove and his husband Will of New York City NY and Mia J. Grove of Akron PA.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA on SATURDAY  (December 20th). at 12 NOON A Private Committal Service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA will follow her Mass of Christian Burial. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
