Mr. Charles M. Hagopian, 67, of Milford MA, formerly of Hopedale MA, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at his residence Monday morning (July 14, 2014) after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hagopian was born in Cambridge MA, the son of the late Harry and the late Aza (Parsekian) Hagopian. He was a graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth High School, Class of 1965 and was a member of the school's football, basketball and track teams. He attended the University of Connecticut where he played on the school's football team. Mr. Hagopian was a longtime employee of the Volvo Truck Corporation, working for almost thirty years as a parts and service consultant for dealerships across the United States. Prior to that he was a parts manager for Caterpillar Inc., in Hopkinton MA. Mr. Hagopian was an avid gardener and loved tending to his tomatoes. He was also a loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan and a highly skilled backgammon player. He loved the ocean and spending time in Ipswich and vacations on Martha's Vineyard. Mostly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was so proud that his first Grandchild, Ara, would be attending Cornell University in the fall, and when he was well enough, he loved going to his Granddaughter Ariana's gymnastic meets and dance competitions and his Grandson Joey's football and basketball games. He was a kind and generous man who would do anything for you. He faced many serious illnesses over the past several years and fought each one with courage, strength and a positive attitude. Along with Pamela (VaJames) Hagopian, his beloved wife of 47 years, he is survived by his Daughter: Rebecca DeMarco and Son-in-law Joseph DeMarco (who he loved like a son),of Milford MA; his Son: Matthew Hagopian of Milford MA; 3 Grandchildren: Ara Hagopian, Ariana DeMarco and Joey DeMarco; 4 Siblings: Harold Hagopian and his wife Peggy of New Bern NC; Veronica Hagopian of Hilton Head SC; Michael Hagopian and his wife Jurema of Cold Springs MN; and Roberta Kennedy, wife of Kevin Kennedy of Norton MA; his Sister-in-law: Carole VaJames of Ipswich MA; his Godchildren: Rachel Hagopian of Chicago IL and Joanna Kennedy of Norton MA; also many loving Nieces, Nephews and Cousins who loved him very much.. Mr. Hagopian was pre-deceased by his Daughter: Samara Hagopian of Los Angeles CA in 2012, and his Brother-in-law, Christopher VaJames of Ipswich MA in 2008. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A gathering & celebration of his life will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours.
