Daniel Joseph Dean

Mr. Daniel J. Dean, 78, of Milford MA died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday (June 11, 2023) at the Milford Regional Medical Center . He was the beloved husband of Patricia-Jo (McAllister) Dean.

Daniel was born in Passaic NJ, the son of the late Archie Dean Jr. and the late Alice (Bell) Dean. He was a graduate of Rutherford NJ High School, Class of 1962. He later received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Rhode Island in 1966, and attained his MBA from University of Rhode Island in 1977.

Daniel was first employed at Georgia-Pacific in Stamford CT from 1969 to 1976 where he served as Chief Accounting Officer. From 1979 to 2002 he was employed at Digital Equipment Corporation located in Maynard MA. He later worked for Compaq computer company prior to it being sold.

Daniel had been a resident of Milford MA since 1983. Prior to that he had resided in Acton MA from 1978 to 1983; North Kingston RI from 1976 to 1978; Kalamazoo MI from 1969 to 1976 and Rutherford NJ prior to Kalamazoo MI.

 Daniel had been a member of Tau Epsilon Phi while in College and had also participated in football while at the University of Rhode Island. He had also served in the US Army from to 1966 to 1969.

Along with his beloved wife of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter Misty Hungerford of Aurora Colorado and her husband Andrew Hungerford, as well as her former husband Christopher Turner and their children Alex Turner & Zoe Turner. His daughter Stephanie Norris of Milford MA and her son Anthony Norris; his 2 brothers: Archie F. Dean Jr. of Rutherford NJ and Richard Dean of Rutherford NJ; his brother-in-law: Stan Wilcox of Columbia MD; also the McAllister family of Rhode Island, Florida &  California; and several nieces & nephews.

Daniel was the brother of the late Janet Wilcox of Columbia MD.

Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to Daniel’s family on Saturday (June 17th) from 2pm to 4pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow.
