Daniel Joseph DelVecchio, age 64, of Grafton, MA passed away on May 26th, 2026 at home surrounded by loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Meredith L. (Ragsdale) DelVecchio.
Daniel was born in Milford, MA, son of Regina M. (Byrne) Del Vecchio and the late Lawrence L. Del Vecchio. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1980. He also attained his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College in 1984.
Daniel was first employed at Eastman Kodak Company located in Rochester, NY from 1984 to 1991. He then moved back to Massachusetts and spent 35 years working as a Systems Engineer for Apple Inc. from 1991 to 2026.
Daniel was passionate about being outdoors, including hiking, camping, traveling, and visiting national parks. He loved playing basketball as a younger man and later enjoyed playing frisbee and various sports with his kids. Dan was a skilled woodworker whose creations helped make his house a home. Within the last decade he became an avid cyclist and was part of a special community, the Cyclopaths.
Always a good neighbor and a friendly face, he extended a helping hand to those around him. He volunteered his time supporting various charities, including Bicycles Battling Cancer, the MS and ALS societies, as well as his local parish.
Most of all, Dan loved his family with every part of his being, and that love lives on in all their hearts.
Along with his beloved wife Meredith and his mother Regina M. (Byrne) Del Vecchio of Milford MA, he is survived by his 5 children: Robert L. DelVecchio of Worcester MA, Jenni M. (Del Vecchio) Scarborough and her husband Charles “Trey” Scarborough III of Midland VA, Miranda R. Peer and her husband Tyler B. Peer of Denver NC, Sophie E. Rubin of Grafton MA and Joshua J. Rubin of Bolton MA; also his beloved granddaughter: Madelyn M. Peer of Denver NC.
Daniel is also survived by his 5 siblings: Dr. David M. Del Vecchio, MD and his wife Wendy of Chesapeake VA, Stephen L. Del Vecchio and his wife Marcia of Dennis MA, Mary Ellen Zarba of Derry NH, Gregory M. Del Vecchio and his wife Sarah of Ojai CA and Peter A. Beale-Del Vecchio and his wife Jacqueline of Chicago IL; also many nieces & nephews.
Daniel was the former husband of the late Heidi L. Startz, who passed away in 2024.
VISITING HOURS will be held FRIDAY (June 5th) from 6pm-8pm at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
Relatives & Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY (June 6th) at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. A Mercy Meal will be offered directly afterwards in the church’s Bell Tower Room.
