David Francis Rhodes

David F. Rhodes, 81, of Milford MA died Tuesday (September 12, 2023) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health.

David was born in Woonsocket RI, the son of the late Eugene N. Rhodes and the late Jane (Streeter) Rhodes. He attended Bellingham public schools, graduating from Bellingham High School.

David was employed as a machinist for many years, working at various manufacturers, including the former Miscoe Spring Beverage Company, the former Porter Shoe Company, and Ruger Gun in New Hampshire. He also had worked as a delivery person for various auto parts stores.

David had resided in Bellingham for most of his life. He was a US Air Force veteran having served from 1960 to 1964. He was a member of the American Legion, the Sons of Italy and the Sportsman’s Club.

David was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid Boston Red Sox & NE Patriots fan. He also enjoyed playing games on his cellphone and taking mystery rides throughout the countryside & local area.

David is survived by his children: David Rhodes & Randall Rhodes of Florida, James Rhodes of New Hampshire, Michael Rhodes of Pennsylvania, Rebecca Rhodes of Massachusetts & Thomas Rhodes of Massachusetts; his 2 sisters: Virginia Barreiro of Woonsocket RI & Carolyn Artz of Annville PA; his sister-in-law: Yoko Rhodes of Bellingham MA; also several grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

David was the brother of the late John Rhodes, the late Raymond Rhodes and the late Priscilla Weickers.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Graveside Committal Service, with Military Honors, on Saturday (September 23rd) at 11:30am at Wilcox Cemetery, Lake Street, Bellingham MA. There are no visiting hours.
