Dennis Paul Samiagio

Mr. Dennis P. Samiagio, 77, of Mashpee MA and formerly of Milford MA died Sunday (January 23, 2022) at Royal of Cotuit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Viola Jean (Secord) Samiagio, who died in 2017.

Dennis was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Anthony and the late Dena (Cecchi) Samiagio. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1962.

Dennis was a Viet Nam War veteran having served in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 of Milford MA.

Dennis had been a resident of Mashpee MA since 2006, and prior to that had resided in Milford MA. He had been employed for many years as a service repairman for the Commonwealth Gas Company.

Dennis is survived by his 2 children: Jason Samiagio and his wife Ellen of Westborough MA and Jennifer Samiagio of Cotuit MA; his grandson: Andrew Jason Hennigan of Cotuit MA; his granddaughter: Vera Jean Samiagio of Westborough MA; his brother: Robert Samiagio and his wife Jane of Milford MA; his aunt: Gloria Spiro of Milford MA; his cousin: Wayne Spiro of Milford MA; his 2 nieces: Melissa Kerr of Milford MA and Karen Alberts of Franklin MA; and his sister-in-law: Shirley Powell of RI.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday (January 27th) at 11am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Thursday (January 27th) from 10am to 11am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to his funeral services.

Due to COVID-19 and the family’s concerns for the wellbeing of everyone the use of face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services.
