Dino DeBartolomeis Obituary

Mr. Dino DeBartolomeis, 74 of Milford MA died Sunday (April 12, 2026) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health.

 

Dino was born in Framingham MA, the son of the late Donato DeBartolomeis and the late Elisa (Villani) DeBartolomeis.

 

Dino attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1970. He then graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester MA in 1974 where he attained his bachelors degree. He later attained a master’s degree in business administration; a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a master’s degree in public administration from Anna Maria College in Paxton MA.

 

Dino was first employed as a young man for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, working as an administrator for the CETA Program. He then proceeded to work for many years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Department of Rehabilitation, retiring in 2015 as an administrator.

 

Dino was very proud of his Milford roots and loved serving the Town of Milford in many ways. He started off his community involvement serving as an elected member of the Milford School Committee from 1977 to 1983. And then served as a member of the Milford Board of Selectmen for 36 years, from 1982 to 2015.

 

Dino also served on numerous other town committees & boards over the years, including the Louisa Lake Project; the Milford Pond Project; the Milford Stacy School Renovation Committee; the Milford Woodland Elementary School Renovation Committee; the Milford Town Hall Re-Dedication Committee and the Fruit Street Playground Renovation Committee. He had also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Milford Geriatric Authority and a member of the Board of Directors of The Milford Senior Center & the Friends of the Milford Senior Center.

 

Dino was very proud of his Italian heritage & culture. He was an avid fisherman in his younger days and loved to watch the old cowboy & western television shows late at night while at home. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan and also a Boston Celtics fan & a New England Patriots fan. But he derived the most pleasure out of attending all the various committee meetings that he served on for the Town of Milford.

 

Dino is survived by his brother: John DeBartolomeis of Milford MA; also several cousins including Louisa Giokas, wife of Constandinos “Charlie” Giokas of Milford MA; David Villani and his partner Alisha & their son Antonio of Mendon MA; Justine Texiera and her husband Tex of Bellingham MA; Elias Giokas and his wife Gina of Milford MA; Juliana Giokas of Milford MA; Giovanni Giokas of Milford MA; Anthony Giokas of Milford MA; Mattina Texiera of Bellingham MA & Luciana Texiera of Bellingham MA. He is also survived by his godmother: Pasqua DeSantis of Milford MA.

 

His funeral will be held Monday (April 20th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (April 19th) from 3pm to 6pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
