Mr. Dominic R. “Doc” Daltorio, 90, of Milford MA died Monday (November 28, 2022) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness.
Doc was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Michael A. Daltorio and the late Mary A. (Candela) Daltorio. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School. He also attended Worcester Boys Trade School.
Doc was a Korean Conflict veteran, having served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1956.
Following his tour of duty in the US Navy he began his career of working in the construction industry. He was employed for many years as a union laborer, working out of Local Union #609 located in Framingham MA.
Doc was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, gardening & also loved to cook. He also loved woodworking, even making furniture for his own residence.
Doc was a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 of Milford MA, the VFW and also a member of the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club. He loved taking his nephews on fishing & hunting adventures.
Doc is survived by his beloved sister: Diana R. Hearns of Milford MA; his 3 nephews: John Hearns and his wife Debbie of Milford MA, Joey Daltorio of New Hampshire & Christopher Humphrey and his wife Kathryn of Tennessee; his grandniece: Summer Humphrey; also his 2 grandnephews: Christopher Humphrey Jr. & John M. Hearns.
Doc was the brother of the late Joseph Daltorio and the uncle of the late Michael E. Hearns & the late Michael D. Hearns.
His funeral will be held Wednesday (December 7th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow, with Military Honors, in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday (December 7th) from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to his Funeral Mass.
