In Loving Memory of Donna L. Kennedy

Donna L. Kennedy, 77, formerly of Holliston and most recently of Medway, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.

Born in Albany, New York, and spent her childhood in Vermont, where the beauty of Lake Champlain shaped her love for nature and simple joys. She graduated from nursing school in Albany in October 1972 with her LPN, beginning a lifelong career devoted to caring for others in nursing homes. She ended her nursing career in Massachusetts, where her compassion, humor, and dedication touched countless lives.

After retiring, Donna “Nana” poured her heart into helping raise her two beloved granddaughters, creating a bond and a lifetime of memories that they will carry forever. She found her happiest moments on Cape Cod, drawn to its quiet beaches and the steady presence of lighthouses. She loved holiday gatherings filled with food, laughter, and family — moments that reflected her generous spirit and deep devotion to those she loved.

Donna was predeceased by her loving husband, Francis “Bud & Papa” T. Kennedy of Holliston, who was truly the love of her life. Their partnership was marked by unwavering support, deep affection, and a shared joy in family and community that inspired all who knew them.

She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Cheryl Mitchell, and her husband, Lenny Mitchell, as well as her cherished granddaughters, Taylor Hill and Madison Mitchell.

Donna lived her life with no apologies — strong, independent, and fiercely loving. She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and her ability to make those around her feel seen and cared for. Her family and friends will miss her deeply but will carry her love in their hearts always.

In accordance with Donna’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Her family will honor her life in a private gathering, where her ashes will be lovingly scattered.
