Doris Helen (Cecchi) Beccia

Mrs. Doris H. (Cecchi) Beccia, 94, of Milford MA and formerly of Ashland MA & Framingham MA died Saturday evening (January 16, 2021) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford as a result of complications from COVID-19. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Beccia, who died in 2009.

Doris was born in Framingham MA, the daughter of the late Carlo and the late Annella Cecchi. She attended Framingham public schools, graduating from Framingham High School, Class of 1944.

Doris was first employed as a young woman at the former Jordan Marsh Company located in Framingham MA. She then was employed at Sears & Roebuck in Natick MA for about thirty years, working in the human resources department.

Doris had been a resident of Milford MA since 2009 and prior to that had resided in Holliston MA, Ashland MA and Framingham MA. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, especially their trips to Italy, Las Vegas NV, Canada and many US destinations. She and her late husband were avid ball room dancers and were members of the Froishan Club for many years.

Doris is survived by 1 son: William Beccia and his wife Ellen of Rutland MA; her 3 grandchildren: Kenneth Fitzgerald and his wife Annette of Millis MA, Ariel Beccia of Cambridge MA and Erin Beccia of San Francisco CA; also several nieces & nephews.

Doris was the mother of the late Noreen (Beccia) Fitzgerald who died in 2020 and the sister of the late Augustus “Al”Cecchi.

Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions and the family’s concern for the wellbeing of family members & friends a Private Funeral Service will be held at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no visiting hours. Social distancing protocols & use of face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services.
