Mrs. Edna R. (Cenedella) Cosetta, 90, of Hopedale MA, died Saturday (April 10, 2021) at the Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Cosetta Sr., who died in 2000.
Edna was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Edward J. and the late Elizabeth R. (Pedroli) Cenedella. She attended Hopedale public schools, graduating from Hopedale High School, Class of 1949.
Edna had been employed for twenty years as a medical secretary for Dr. Arthur C. Sgalia, retiring in 1996. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale MA and had volunteered at the church as a member of the church’s choir; a CCD teacher & a Eucharistic minister.
Edna loved to read, to crochet and do crossword puzzles. But her favorite past-time was spending time with her beloved family members.
Edna is survived by her 4 children: Catherine A., wife of Gary Gosselin of Hopedale MA, Robert J. Cosetta Jr. and his wife Linda of Somerset MA, Elaine M. Beaulieu of Hopedale MA and Ann E. Cosetta of Millbury MA; her 5 grandchildren: Jeffrey Cosetta, Kimberly Sobreiro, Jessica Raddi, Jonathan Lavigne and Andrew Gosselin; her 4 great grandchildren: Ariana Raddi, Cameron Sobreiro, William Lavigne and Alex Sobreiro; her brother: Edmund J. Cenedella and his wife Joyce of St Petersburg FL; several nieces & nephews; and her longtime companion: James MacLean of Hopedale MA.
Edna was the mother-in-law of the late Roland Beaulieu.
Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions and the family’s concern for the wellbeing of family members & friends a Private Funeral will be held Thursday (April 15th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. A Private Committal Service for immediate family members only will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Relatives & friends are also invited to attend visiting hours at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday (April 14th) from 5pm to 7pm. Social distancing protocols & use of face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services.
