Eileen Helen (Humes) Castiglione

Mrs. Eileen H. (Humes) Castiglione, 87, of Hopedale MA died Tuesday morning (July 8, 2025) at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Castiglione Jr. who died in 2001.

Eileen was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Charlie Humes and the late Annie (Polastri) Humes. She attended the former St. Mary’s parochial schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1955. She also attained her associates degree from Endicott College.

Eileen was first employed as a young woman working in the human resources department at the Jordan Marsh Company located in Framingham MA. She then was employed at the former Stylon Corporation located in Milford MA. After raising her children, she was employed at the former Rico’s Supermarket located in Hopedale MA.

Eileen then began her long career working in the medical industry, first working as a medical secretary in the Laboratory at Milford Hospital and later at the Milford Hospital’s EEG Department. Lastly, she was employed as a medical secretary at the offices of Dr. William Tosches.

Eileen was a devoted housewife & mother. She was also the last surviving member of the “Club Girls”, consisting of five women who carried on a lasting friendship for many years.

The family of Eileen would like to thank Salmon Hospice for the wonderful care afforded their mother during the last days of her life, especially to Erin Lawrence & Jason Cote.

Eileen is survived by her 3 children: Paul E. Castiglione and his wife Debbie of Milford MA, Jeanmarie Berberian and her husband Scott of Cummaquid MA and Edward F. Castiglione III of Hopedale MA; her 2 grandchildren: Paul C. Castiglione of Milford MA and Mark A. Castiglione of Milford MA; her great grandson: Nathan Castiglione of Hopedale MA; her sister: Charlotte Castiglione of Hopedale MA; also several nieces & nephews, especially Debbie Fullum. Eileen was also the mother-in-law of Nancy Chinappi of Milford MA.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday (July 12th) at 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Saturday (July 12th) from 11:00AM to 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Services.
