Elizabeth Morin Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth A. (Kennelly) Morin, 90, of Milford MA died late Thursday evening  (July 22, 2021) at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Philip W. Morin.

 

Betty was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late John R. and the late Anna (Morgan) Kennelly. She attended the former St. Mary’s parochial schools, graduating from the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1948. She was also a graduate of the former St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951.

 

Betty was first employed as a private duty nurse and then later as a registered nurse at the Milford Hospital. Following that, she was employed for over twenty-five years as a nurse for the Milford Area Visiting Nurses Association. She also worked as a nurse for the Milford Board of Health and as the school nurse at the former Milford Catholic Elementary School.

 

Betty was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford and a member of the church’s Catholic Women’s Club. She was also a member of the St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association and a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

 

Betty had also been a member of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School Boosters Club and then later a member & officer of the Milford High School Boosters Club. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's sporting events.

 

Betty was also a “social member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 of Milford and had been active in the Bocce Ball League in Milford and the Senior Bowling League in Franklin MA. She was also a member of the “Crooked Deck” card playing club. Betty also loved traveling with her husband and friends, as part of the Worcester Travel Group. She also loved cooking Sunday dinners for the family.

 

Betty's family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care & compassion afforded Betty by the medical staff on the 2nd Floor of the Consigli Building at Milford Regional Medical Center. The family would also like to acknowledge Kristen Benson, case manager at Countryside Healthcare of Milford. 

 

Along with her beloved husband of sixty-six years, she is survived by her two children: Dr. James Morin DMD, and his wife Joan of Hopedale MA and Ann, wife of Thomas Costello of Upton MA; her daughter-in-law: Mary Morin of Seabrook NH; her six grandchildren: Kathryn Morin and her fiancé Anthony Arcudi, Erin Morin, Brian Morin, Tyler Costello, Kelsey Morin and Casey Costello; her sister: Janice Kennelly of Milford MA; her sister-in-law: Mrs. Evelyn Kennelly of Milford MA; her brother-in-law: Lawrence Bonetti and his wife Jean of Uxbridge MA; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

 

Betty was the mother of the late Philip W. Morin Jr., who died in 2003; and the sister of the late Mrs. Brenda Bonetti and the late John R. Kennelly Jr.     

 

 

Her funeral will be held Wednesday (July 28th) at 11am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday (July 27th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Milford Lions Club; to the Milford Regional Medical Center; or to the charity of your choice.
