Elizabeth Y. (Yap) Chen

Mrs. Elizabeth Y. (Yap) Chen, 77, of Milford MA, died Sunday evening (October 24, 2021) at the Blaire House Assisted Living in Milford MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Anton W. Chen, who died in 2005.

Elizabeth was born in Manilla, Philippines the daughter of the late Rosendo and the late Victoria (Angtuaco) Yap. She attended school in Manilla as a young girl and was a graduate of St. Paul College in Manilla.

Elizabeth had been employed as an executive assistant at the New York City offices of Bovis Lend Lease company for many years.

Elizabeth was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford. Her faith was very important to her. She loved to travel, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her son: Marc Chen and his wife Megan of Hopedale MA; her 3 grandchildren: Nicholas Chen, Clara Chen and Charlotte Chen of Hopedale MA; her 3 siblings: Rosalind Yap of Cliftside Park NJ, Benjamin Yap of New York City NY and Henry Yap of the Philippines; also several nieces & nephews.

Elizabeth was the sister of the late Raymond Yap of the Philippines.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (November 2nd) at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow and a private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be Monday (November 1st) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
