Ernest Paul Joseph Rioux

Mr. Ernest P. J. Rioux, 80, of Milford MA died Tuesday (May 5, 2026) at the Milford Regional Hospital after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Ethel R. (Dorman) Rioux.

Ernest was born in Fall River MA, the son of the late Leo D. Rioux and the late Bertha (Pelletier) Rioux. He attended Windham Technical High School in Willimantic CT and was a graduate of Don Bosco High School in Boston MA.

Following high school he entered the US Air Force, serving from 1962 to 1966, where he focused on electronics and computers.

Ernest had been employed in the electronics & computer industry for many years. He first worked in sales & marketing at Data Terminal Systems (DTS); and later at Alarm Computer Technology, XePix Inc., and BMI Traffic Analysis Systems. While working in his professional field he attended Harvard Business School where he received certification in Executive Education. Upon formal retirement he enjoyed working at Home Depot & Loew’s, where he enjoyed helping customers with all their projects.

Ernest was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and he also loved playing softball. He also was an avid gardener and loved a good joke, affectionately playing tricks on his beloved family members & friends.

Along with his beloved wife of 55 years, he is survived by his 2 daughters: Eleena B. Rioux of Milford MA and Erika D. Rioux of Milford MA; his grandson: Garrett C. D. Olson of Milford MA; also several nieces & nephews.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. There are no formal funeral services scheduled.
