Evelyn Elizabeth (Lamperti) Kennelly

Mrs. Evelyn E. (Lamperti) Kennelly, 98, of Milford MA died Saturday evening (June 14, 2025) at Cornerstone at Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Kennelly Jr. who died in 2018.

Evelyn was born in Walpole MA, the daughter of the late Louis Lamperti and the late Mary (Picozzi) Lamperti. She attended Walpole public schools, graduating from Walpole High School.

Evelyn had been employed for many years as a telephone operator working for the former New England Telephone Company. She had been a resident of Milford MA for the past 57 years and prior to that had resided in Walpole MA.

Evelyn was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church where she volunteered as a religious education teacher. She was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Guild and the former St. Mary’s Woman’s Club. Having worked for NE Telephone Company she was a longtime member of the IBEW Union and had served as a union steward at one time. Evelyn was also a member of the Crooked Deck Card Club.

Evelyn is survived by her children: John R. Kennelly III and his wife Donna of Hopedale MA, Carol A. Colpitts and her husband Craig Colpitts of Milford MA, Patricia E. Lucier and her husband Alan Lucier of Upton MA and Marianne von Jess and her husband Thomas von Jess of North Hampton NH; her 6 grandchildren: Matthew Kennelly & his fiancée Kathleen Prendergast, Meghan Kennelly & her fiancé Chris Condike, Spencer Colpitts, Griffin Colpitts, Jonathan Lucier and Gabrielle von Jess; her great grandchild: Olivia Condike; her brother: Anthony Lamperti and his wife Maureen of Walpole MA; her sister: Anna Lamperti of Walpole MA; her sister-in-law: Janice Kennelly of Milford MA and her brother-in-law: Lawrence Bonetti and his wife Jean of Uxbridge MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Evelyn was the sister of the late Louis Lamperti; the late Edward Lamperti and the late Albert Lamperti.

Her funeral will be held   Saturday (June 21st ) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church (UPPERCHURCH), 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Friday (June 20th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
