Obituary

Mr. Frederick R. Boehm, 86, of Milford MA died Wednesday (February 8, 2023) at the Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Janet Marie (Reilly) Boehm.

 

Fred was born in Portland Oregon, the son of the late Frederick R. Boehm and the late Myrtle Lena (Curry) Boehm. He was a graduate of Pasco High School in Pasco Washington.

 

Fred had been employed in the computer industry for many years as a field service manager, working for IBM, Xerox, Data General and NYNEX. In 1987 he and his wife opened The Sign Stop located on Main Street in Milford MA, which is now Signs Plus, located on South Main Street in Milford MA, celebrating it’s 35th year in business.

 

Fred was a US Navy veteran having served from 1955 to 1959 and attaining the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.

 

Over the years he had resided in Washington, Oregon, California, North Dakota, Michigan, New York and Massachusetts.

 

Fred was an avid baseball fan and loved to play the game. He played in high school and for the American Legion baseball team in Yakima WA. He was very proud of the trip he and his beloved wife made to see the 2001 John W. Powers Post #59 American Legion baseball team from Milford MA play in the American Legion World Series in Yakima WA.

 

Along with his beloved wife of 60 years, he is survived by his 2 children: Karen Mullen and her husband Brian Mullen of Millbury MA & Frederick R. Boehm Jr. and his wife Jamie Rose Fitzgerald-Boehm of Uxbridge MA; his 4 grandchildren: Kelly Pollard and her husband Justin Pollard of Upton MA, Brian Mullen Jr. of Uxbridge MA, Lucas Erich Boehm of Uxbridge MA and Dylan Charles Boehm of Uxbridge MA; his 3 great grandchildren: Emilia Pollard, Brooks Pollard & Vivienne Pollard; also several nieces & nephews.

 

Fred was the father of the late Linda Marie Boehm who died in 1967.

 

A Private Graveside Committal Service, with Military Honors, will be held at Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford MA at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial; donations may be made to The American Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Massachusetts Chapter, 70 Walnut Street, Suite #301, Wellesley MA 02481.
