George Cleveland Obituary

Mr. George S. Cleveland, 81, of Milford MA, died Sunday (October 20, 2024) at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston MA after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Daddura) Cleveland who died in 2010.  

 

George was born in Boston MA, the son of the late Laurence Cleveland and the late Dorothy (Spooner) Cleveland. He attended Newton public schools and was a graduate of Newton North High School, Class of 1961.

 

George was first employed as a technician At RCA in Boston MA where he met his beloved wife Carol. He later worked at Highland Superstores where he served as a traveling technician doing road calls. He finished his career working Circuit City Stores, where again he served as a traveling technician doing road calls.

 

George was an avid ham radio operator and had volunteered for many years as a ham radio operator for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Association (MEMA) and where he reached the level of Deputy Director. He also loved spending time at the ocean. He also loved traveling throughout New England and enjoyed relaying those experiences to his many family members & friends.

 

George is survived by his daughter: Sarah J. Baroud and her husband Jon Baroud of Holliston MA; his son: David M. Cleveland and his wife Christina Zirpolo-Cleveland of Fitchburg MA; his 6 grandchildren: Ashlie Loeffler, Jessica Dion, Stephanie Cleveland, Megan Cleveland, Nathan Baroud & Vivian Baroud; several great grandchildren and 1 nephew: Christopher Daddura of Long Island NY.

 

George was the brother of the late Carolyn LaCombe.

 

Funeral Services will be held Friday (October 25th) at 10am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery in Newton MA. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (October 24th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
