Igdalia (Ortiz) Medina

Mrs. Igdalia (Ortiz) Medina, 77, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Friday (May 15, 2026) in Santo Domingo,  Dominican Republic while on a church trip. She was the beloved wife of Pastor Jose Del Carmen Medina.

Igdalia was born in Aguadilla Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Enrique Ortiz and the late Juana (Gonzalez) Ortiz.She was a graduate of Antonio Bandillo Hernandez High School.

As a young woman she had been employed from 1982 to 2002 at MWMC Environmental Services. From 2000 to 2022 she had served as 1st Lady of Nueva Jerusalen, and was proud to be the pastor’s wife since 1975.

Igdalia had resided in Framingham MA and in New York prior to residing in Milford MA.

Igdalia was an accomplished seamstress and loved to sing. She assisted her husband serving as a Chaplain and creating fund raising events to support children & families, both locally & internationally.

Along with her beloved husband, Igdalia is survived by her children: Jose Medina and his wife Scarlett Medina of Massachusetts, Othoniel Medina and his wife Evelyn Medina of Millbury MA, Juana Gonzalez of Milford MA, Igdalia Medina of Milford MA and Federico Medina of Framingham MA; her siblings: Abednego Ortiz of Framingham MA, Eunice Roman of Oviedo FL, Damaris Ortiz of Milford MA.

Funeral Services & Visiting Hours for Igdalia Medina will be held Tuesday (May 26th) from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at The Liberty Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike, Shrewsbury MA. A Family Gathering will be held Wednesday morning (May 27th) at 10:00am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Milford MA.
