Irene (Roy) Bregani

Irene Bregani, 69, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of Joseph L. Bregani Jr.,, who preceded her in death in 2017.

Irene was born in Whitinsville, MA, daughter of the late Eva (Bilodeau) and Joseph Roy. She graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1969 and married her husband, Joseph, in July 1970. Irene owned Irene's Salon of Beauty in Milford for many decades, where she worked as a hairstylist. In later years, Irene also worked as a hairstylist at Rose's Salon and at the Milford Courtyard by Marriott as the night auditor.

Irene loved spending time at the family's Cape house in Dennis. She was the world's best mother, a devoted Nana, and a member of a tightly knit social group. She enjoyed visiting with her friends, reading, and cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox. Irene loved her Catholic faith and enjoyed Sunday mass.

Irene is survived by her two children, Michael Bregani, of Milford, MA; her daughter, Melissa Shaver, her husband, Brian, and her granddaughter, Caitlyn, all of Fayetteville, NC; her nephew, Robert Scanlon, of Connecticut; and her niece, Deborah Dingelhoff and her husband, Serge, of Florida. Irene will be deeply missed by her family, especially her granddaughter, Caitlyn, with whom she had a special bond, and many dear friends, whom she considered part of her family.

In addition to her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her mother-in-law.

Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions and her family’s concern for the wellbeing of family members & friends a Private Committal Service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA.
