Jane Marie (Walsh) Barnhart

Mrs. Jane M. (Walsh) Barnhart, 72, of Bellingham MA, died Saturday (April 30, 2022) in Grants Pass OR after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard L. Barnhart Jr.

Jane was born in Bethlehem PA, the daughter of the late Francis H. Walsh and the late Marie Geraldine (Girouard) Walsh. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School located in Bethlehem PA, Class of 1967. She was also a graduate of Newton Sacred Heart College located in Newton MA, Class of 1971 and later received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from UMASS-Amherst in 1979.

Jane had been employed as an art teacher for the Uxbridge MA public school system at Uxbridge High School from 1979 to 1985.

Jane had been a resident of Bellingham MA from 1984 to 2022, and prior to that had resided in Northborough MA, East Thompson CT, Amherst MA and in the Boston metro area.

Jane was an accomplished quilter and had been a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA where she volunteered as an event planner for the church.

Along with her beloved husband Richard, she is survived by her daughter: Amy, wife of Josh Daley of Grants Pass OR; her granddaughter: Allison Marie Daley of Grants Pass OR; her 2 brothers: Francis H. Walsh and his wife Linda of Lynnfield MA & Peter Walsh and his companion Irene Jeruss of Bristol CT; her 4 brothers-in-law: James Barnhart and his wife Angie of Hershey PA, Dan Barnhart and his wife Kaye of Northampton MA, Paul Barnhart and his wife Rose of Landsdale PA and Mark Miller and his wife Deborah of Exeter NH; her sister-in-law: Kathy Turnowchyk and her companion Tom Morris of Jacksonville FL; also several nieces & nephews.

A Private Funeral will be held Friday (May 13th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday (May 12th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
