Janice S. (Savoie) Griffith

Mrs. Janice S. (Savoie) Griffith, 79, formerly of Milford MA died Saturday (May 2, 2026) in Colorado after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James D. Griffith who died in 2023.

Janice was born in St John New Brunswick Canada, the daughter of the late Achilles & Elda Savoie. She was a graduate of Worcester State University, Class of 1969 and had been employed as a fourth grade school teacher at the Woodland Elementary School in Milford MA.

Janice had been a resident of Milford MA from 1991 until 2025, when she moved to Colorado to be near her daughter.

Janice is survived by her daughter: Elise Blakemore and her husband DJ Blakemore of Monument Colorado; her 3 granddaughters: Arden Blakemore, Ava Blakemore & Amelia Blakemore of Monument Colorado; her sister: Irene Knipe of Millbury MA; her brother-in-law: Thomas Griffith and his wife Mary of California; her sister-in-law: Claudette Savoie of Auburn MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on MONDAY (June 1st) at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in North Purchase Cemetery in Milford MA.
