Jennie M. (Volpe) Hazard

Mrs. Jennie M. “Tootsie” (Volpe) Hazard, 92, of Milford MA, died Saturday (October 15, 2022) at Genesis-Milford Center after a period of declining health.

Jennie was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Anthony Volpe and the late Elvira (Liberto) Volpe. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School.

Jennie was first employed as a young woman as a cook at the former Danny’s Variety Store located in Mendon MA and also at the former Lowell’s Restaurant located Mendon MA. Later in life she obtained her certification in electronics from Blackstone Valley Regional High School and had been employed at PAGG Corporation located in Milford MA.

Jennie’s Catholic faith was very important to her and she had been a member of the Mendon Catholic Women’s Club at the former St. Michael’s Church in Mendon MA. She loved to cook and loved spending time with her beloved family members, always helping them in their time of need.

Jennie is survived by her 4 daughters: Ann Marie Bard of Franklin MA, Patricia Ann Hazard of Portsmouth NH, Dianne M. Hazard of Milford MA and Vera L. Hazard of Milford MA; her granddaughter: Jenifer O’Mahony and her husband John of Rochester NH; her sister: Catherine Salvia of Milford MA and several nieces & nephews.

A Private Funeral will be held Wednesday (October 19th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no visiting hours.
