Joan A. (Allega) Eggers

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan A. (Allega) Eggers, at her home in Wilmington MA, on January 23, 2024.

Joan was a beloved wife, mother and sister who touched the lives of many with her kindness and spirit.

Born in Bronx NY, Joan attended St. Simon Stock High School in the Bronx, NY, and as an adult earned a straight-A degree in mathematics at Greenfield, MA, Community College.

 Joan’s fascinating career included a “Mad Men” life at Madison Avenue advertising agencies in Manhattan and elsewhere, airline stints at PanAm and Air France during the glory days of jet travel, and, finally, a glamorous new chapter in the cruise industry.

Always looking forward to the next adventure with her late husband Art, Joan also lived through the years in Boston, New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Deerfield, MA. Her happy place was any warm beach.

Joan is survived by her son, Evan, her sisters Barbara and Joyce, a niece, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside committal ceremony at 11:00am on Saturday, February 3rd , at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road, Milford, MA.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home in Milford. There are no funeral home visiting hours. 

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Joan’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
