Joanne Marie (Cedrone) Rosen

Mrs. Joanne M.(Cedrone) Rosen, 80, of Milford MA, died Thursday, August 22, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, at Countryside Health Care of Milford. She was the beloved wife of Gerard M. Rosen, her high school sweetheart and husband for 60 years.

Born in Boston MA, Joanne was the daughter of Carmella M. (Manzo) Cedrone and John J. Cedrone. She grew up in Brighton MA, where she attended the St. Columbkille School, graduating in 1961.

Upon graduating, and after a brief hiatus as Mom to three children, Joanne worked as a legal secretary. For many years, she was employed by attorney Micheal P. Healey in Holliston MA. After retiring, she volunteered in the office at the Milford Senior Center.

Spending time with family was her great joy, and they thought of her as the glue that held them together. Giving by nature, she cared for her mother in her last years, in their own home, enabling her to live a good life to the age of 104. She looked forward to planning and hosting holiday gatherings. Being an amazing cook, master of pie dough and many Italian specialties, no one left the house hungry or empty handed.

Talented and creative, she sewed, knitted, and crocheted many beautiful pieces of clothing, quilts, scarves, and crafts for her family and her home. She also enjoyed and took pride in maintaining their tidy yard and flower beds.

Her generous and loving spirit touched so many, she will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Joanne is survived by her husband Gerard Rosen of Milford MA; her children: Christine Rosen, (Anthony Iams) of Scarsdale NY, John Rosen of Buckfield Maine,  Patricia Rosen, (Joshua Wood) of Cranston RI; her sister: Carol Hogan, (Edward Hogan) of Hudson MA; her In-Laws: William Rosen, Jr., (Lorraine Lordan) Mary Anne Kanakaris Warren Rosen, (Kathy Nerpouni) Frances Persechini, (Fred Persechini) Mark Rosen, (Sloat Shaw), Virginia Rosen, Maryann Rosen.

Also survived by her nieces and nephews: Amanda Hogan, Shannon Hogan, Ellen Wortman (David), Jennifer Maree (Robbie), Philip Persechini (Erin); her grandnieces & grandnehews: David & Henry Wortman, Oliver & Penelope Maree, Truett, Irie & Zion Persechini; also many cousins & friends.

Joanne was pre-deceased by her brother: Gerard Cedrone  and by her In-Laws: Robert Rosen, Bea Rosen, Richard Rosen, Carmela Rosen, Chris Kanakaris and  Mal Macrae.

Joanne’s family would like to thank the staff at both Dana Faber Milford and Countryside Health Care Milford for their kind and compassionate care.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on THURSDAY (September 12th) at 10:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA.
